Wintersport 2025 ⛷️

It’s become a company tradition, and an honour to arrange a winter sports trip for the team in Amsterdam. This year we took a team of 46 to Austria to ski, toboggan, tube, boogie, and après ski; to let off some steam and have fun in the snow.  

We asked our colleague, software developer and committed annual attendee, Ben, to give us a quick download on his experience. Read along for his highlights!  

Who are you, and what do you do at the team in Amsterdam?   

Hey, I’m Ben (‘Ik ben Ben’ for the Dutchies), and I work in the backend development team. 

Why did you join the winter sports trips?  

The annual winter sports trip is always such a great time, whether it’s hitting the slopes, going for a scenic hike in the Alps, or enjoying a lovely meal.  

It's a cliche question, but if I give you three words to describe winter sports, what would they be?  

Rad, Bonding, Exhausting (but in a good way!). 

Why do you think the winter sports trip is so important for you and your peers? 

Despite the many company events the team in Amsterdam organizes, the winter sports trip truly stands out. It's a few action-packed days filled with activities, where we step away from the daily grind, unwind in the stunning Alps, have fun, and strengthen bonds, not just within our immediate teams but across teams. 

What was your favourite activity? 

Hard one; this has been my third winter sports trip, and I’m getting better at skiing, which makes it more enjoyable of course. 

Very important question: How many schnitzels did you eat over the course of the three trips? 

I'm not ranking high in the charts on this one since I skipped it at every meal on the last trip, I was completely ‘schnitzel’d out’ from previous years. 

What was the biggest surprise or highlight of the trip for you?  

Being able to take on the red slopes and not tumble down dramatically in a cloud of snow powder!
